The new practice began on September 1st

According to what TopLegal can anticipate, Claudio Doria is not any more a partner at Garrigues (where he was also the head of the Italian Desk) and as from 1 September has started his own firm: Doria Tölle.

The new firm acts as an independent Italian Desk focused on Italian mid-market companies (in the fashion, luxury, retail and industrial sectors in general) interested in investing in Spain. “The objective – has explained Doria to TopLegal – will be to follow the legal aspects of the investment transactions but also to become the trusted legal advisor for the company, to manage in continuity its needs under Spanish law, in particular those of the governance of the board of directors.”

Doria, who starts the new experience on his own, will benefit from the interwoven relationships with the firm Amat & Vidal-Quadras, a boutique law firm focused on M&A, litigation, Pharmaceutical law and IP, and is already based in Barcelona and Madrid.

The reason of the separation – Doria has explained – is tracked in the bylaws of the Spanish giant: “I have reached the first statutory window for the so-called “retirement” as partner of the firm and I have chosen to continue my professional activity as a lawyer with my own private practice.”
