Experience
I am an attorney-at-law practicing in Spain with over 30 years’ experience, specializing in M&A transactions and commercial contracts, with a particular focus on advising Italian and other international clients in their investments and interests in Spain, across a number of sectors, in particular, those in the fashion, luxury, retail, consumer product and manufacturing industries in general.
I have been for 15 years an equity partner at Garrigues, one of the major law firms in Spain and Portugal with a worldwide presence, in the corporate and M&A department, leading the Italian Desk of the firm (which was awarded by the Italian legal directory Top Legal the 2016 award as the best Italian Desk of an international firm) and co-leading the fashion and luxury industry group.
Expertise
The fact of representing extensively foreign clients on inward Spanish investment work has provided me a wealth of experience in cross-border transactions. As secretary to the board of directors to various multinational and family owned businesses, I have had the chance to advise various group companies and family offices in their investments in Spain and worldwide, in many occasions having the role of an inhouse counsel, leading the legal aspects of the transaction while coordinating a multijurisdictional team of lawyers.
Recognition
Several referrals in Italy recommend me as one of the preferred Spanish advisors when doing business with Spain, while the legal directory Best Lawyers has considered me for a number of years as one of the lawyers of choice in Spain in my area of expertise.
I usually lecture on corporate governance matters, supply chain legal challenges and distribution structures at various universities and professional institutions, and also present at various international conferences. I am currently a member of the Advisory Board of the European Regional Forum of the International Bar Association (IBA), the most important lawyers’ international organization in the world.
